Edie posed for a moment while everyone was gathering in front of the Providence Performing Arts Center where the Johnson & Wales University's masters and doctorates commencement ceremonies were being held.

The marquis announced the event and it was time to go in.

Students come from all over the world, so each nation that was represented by a graduating student was also represented by it's flag. Each flag was carried in by a graduating representative in the Parade of Flags and then placed on stage. With the stage set to go, the graduation ceremony began.

After all the speeches were made, the degrees given out, and the tassles switched from one side to the other, each graduate was invited to pose behind the podium with the university's seal before the leaving the theater.

Here is Edie, the proud recipient of her M.B.A. from the Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School of Johnson & Wales University on May 15, 2008.

Of course, this called for a little celebration. So we all headed to an area pub for a few drinks. Edie never stopped smiling the whole time. Matter of fact, she had been smiling all night!

The classes are over, the tests have all been taken, and the ceremonies have taken place and are a thing of the past. I am so awfully proud of Edie and all that she has accomplished because of the sacrifices she made and the dedication she gave. She was determined to succeed and she did!
CONGRATULATIONS, EDIE!

She should be smiling!!! Congrats to Edie and to you... School is a long haul for everyone.
Now YOU can sit back, retire and let her take care of you and pay the bills!!!

(Well, it sounds good!!!) Give her a big hug and kiss from me.
Congrats to both of you!
She's already doing that, Martin, but now she can do even a better job of it!
It's not really fair, though, is it? So, I guess I'm going to have to do something to try to even things out. In the meantime, though, I am really, really proud of her and I don't have a bit of a problem giving her that big hug and kiss!
Thank you, queenie! It was a long haul, but it was worth it. I'm proud of her and I know she's happy.
Frog, she's still smiling! I know it's because she's proud of herself, but I also think it's because it's over.
WooHoo! Edie's going to love all those emoticons! I'm calling her over to see your comment for herself!
She's coming now...I know she'll love it!
Ok, Edie's writing the rest of this, so here she is... Thank you, tvrvalentinesbaby! I love the emoticons!
I will tell Edie that you have said congratulations. She'll probably want to come see the comment herself, so she'll love the "gold star" for sure, and how can she not appreciate the smiling flower?
The Grouch
A smiling grouch! I love it! I will definitely pass on your congratulations and your smile to Edie.
Congratulations. And the crowd goes wild.
Cheers!!!
