Here's a new kind of game for you bloggers. I will give you an intro and list some clues that you are to use as consideration for the answer to the question asked in the title. The correct answer will not be revealed by me anywhere within this post.
It is up to you to take your best guess at the answer or, if you prefer, to do your own research to find the answer. Include your answer in your comment.
Now this is a real "make believe" contest. It's all for fun, but we are going to pretend it is real. So, there are make believe prizes that I will pretend to award the winners.
How are the winners determined and what are the prizes?
Well, I will allow the post to "sit" for an undetermined amount of time (sort of as a surprise) so the make believe contest could last for 24 hours or for 3 full days. No contest will end in less than 24 hours from the time of posting and none will last more than at some point on the 4th day after posting. At the bottom of each contest post, it will state how many winners there can be.
The make believe prizes will be determined by me and I will pretend to present them to the winner(s) in a special prize awarding post. All prizes will be clearly identified for all to see, presented to the winner(s) by their user names, and assumed to be received by the winner(s) within that special post. So all applause and speeches can take place within comments and replies left on the post.
So, here is the first MAKE BELIEVE contest...
The intro;
Most of us have learned about biological classifications, as well as all the scientific names that are used within the classifications. I'm sure there are a great number of people who clearly understand how it all works and what it all means, but there are also people just like me who have heard of it all but only have a limited understanding. Classification of all things "being" was first done by Aristotle, but it was also changed, modified, and enhanced by many throughout history. One of the most influentially reknown individuals is still revered and recognized by many in today's scientific world.
The question;
Do you know who this is? (I don't want a yes or no answer, I want the person's name.)
The clues;
1. A Swedish scientist born in 1707.
2. His work in taxonomy represents the starting point of binomial nomenclature and he developed the expansion of natural history knowledge (the system of scientific classification now widely used in the biological sciences).
3.
A more modern chart/table of his system.
4. Responsible for a number of important scientific works, with his most famous being Systema Naturae (1st ed. 1735)
5. This is the "combo clue"... He is legally known by more than one name (all are variations on the same name) so I will accept any correct form, he hypothetically planned a flower clock (something that served as the idea behind actual flower clocks), and the Swedish 100 kroner bill features an illustration of him.
Rules specific to this contest:
All answers should appear in comments. The first 2 people who answer correctly will win a make believe prize. (Each prize will be different.) Anyone else who answers correctly will be acknowledged at the special make believe awards post that will immediately follow the contest.
(If you have any questions at all, please contact me via blogster message. Remember, this is all for fun...but it is not necessarily easy.) Good luck!
FYI: It's possible to find the answer by Googling or using a similar means.

Aw, queenie, I'm sure it's not that much over your head. You can still try.
Sending answer to you.
If you think you know the answer, state it in a comment. It's ok to send me a message (thank you) but the answer has to be here to count.
Thank you for commenting. If you haven't seen it already, see my post that features the answer.

I'm not quite sure if your answer will do. I just don't think the judge (that's me) will rule it as acceptable. But, who knows? Check for all results in my post with the correct answer and the names of the winners.
Carolus Linnaeus

Ohhh, it's not so deep...not really...but I think I made it a little harder than I should have for the first time around. If you want to check it out, I've posted the correct answer and the names of the winners.
